So glad that these floor tiles leading to the famous Rochore Bean Curd at Short Street are still around! Unfortunately, when I was there on 10 August, the day after National Day, it was closed. Well, definitely must go another time before it is gone, like so many things. Like the Haw Par Building for example. In its place, this very swanky building (top pic). A description and history of the old building with its tiger on the facade and the roof top, can be found in the wonderful blog by Jerome Lim: https://thelongnwindingroad.wordpress.com/tag/selegie-road/. It was my favourite building in this area (Selegie). |

Hi Tien Yin,
Hope this finds you well - my name is Jia Jing, representing the National Museum of Singapore's (NMS) Exhibitions department.
At present, we are working on the revamp of our Level 2 galleries (the four Life in Singapore galleries) that is slated to open to public in Feb 2027 for the next 10 years. Our curator has shortlisted some materials from your Blog for use in the exhibition.
Would you be able to connect me via email at: Jia_Jing_LEE_from.TP@nhb.gov.sg for us to provide more details on our request?
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you.
Best,
Jia Jing
